the annual financial statements included in this annual report. The
independent auditors are responsible for reporting on
the annual financial statements. |

| The annual financial statements are prepared in accordance with
South African Statements of Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice, and in the manner required by the Companies
Act in South Africa, on the going concern basis and
incorporate full and responsible disclosure. The annual financial
statements are based upon appropriate accounting
policies which are in accordance with those of the previous year,
with the exception of the implementation of the South
African Statement of Generally Accepted Accounting Practice, AC 501:
Accounting for secondary taxation on companies
(STC), and are supported by reasonable and prudent judgements and
estimates. |

| It is the responsibility of the independent external auditors to
report on the fair presentation of the financial statements.

| The directors are ultimately responsible for the internal controls
of the group. Nothing has come to the attention of the
directors to indicate that any breakdown in the functioning of the
internal controls, resulting in a material loss to the group,
has occurred during the year and up to the date of this report. |

| The directors are satisfied that the information contained in the
financial statements presents the results of operations for
the year and the financial position of the group at year-end. The
directors also prepared the other information included
in the annual report and are responsible for both its accuracy and
its consistency with the financial statements. |

| The directors are of the opinion that the group will continue as
a going concern in the future. |
